What is UV printing?
At Goteez, our minimum order for custom screen printing is 24 pieces per design. Screen printing is a setup-intensive process — screens are made for each color in your design, so larger quantities are where you see the best price per unit. That said, we work with everything from small team orders to large corporate runs. What materials can be UV printed?
UV printing works on an exceptional range of flat materials: acrylic, aluminum, PVC, foam board, corrugated plastic (coroplast), glass, wood, tile, leather, metal, and more. If it's flat and it fits the bed, we can likely print on it.

How is UV printing different from regular inkjet or vinyl printing?
Standard inkjet printing uses water-based inks that can smear, fade, and require a coated media. Vinyl graphics are cut and applied, which can peel, bubble, and show edges. UV printing cures instantly on the surface using UV light, producing a print that bonds to the material itself, eliminating any chance of peeling, smearing and significantly more weather resistance.
For exterior-facing signage that needs to hold up to sun exposure, UV-cured inks outperform standard prints and hold their color significantly longer.
How fade-resistant is UV printing?
Very. UV-cured inks are formulated for long-term color stability for both indoors and outdoors. When combined with appropriate outdoor-rated materials, UV-printed signs maintain their vibrancy for years in direct sun exposure. This is why UV printing is the preferred method for outdoor business signage, directional signs, and any application where longevity matters.
For indoor environments, UV-printed pieces are essentially permanent by being protected from UV exposure which will hold color indefinitely.
Can UV printing be done on textured or curved surfaces?
UV flatbed printing is optimized for flat surfaces. Items with a slight texture like wood or pebbled acrylic is fine to print on. Significant curves or 3D objects are not ideal for flatbed UV printing, though some applications can be handled with careful setup.

Can you print white ink with UV printing?
Yes, UV printing supports opaque white ink, which is critical for printing on clear, dark, or metallic substrates. White ink can be used as an underbase beneath color layers (for vivid printing on dark materials) or as a standalone color (e.g., white printing on clear acrylic for backlit signs).
White ink opens up a wide range of design possibilities that aren't available with standard CMYK printing. If your project involves clear acrylic, dark surfaces, or metallic substrates, let us know.
Is UV printing good for trade show displays and retail graphics?
It's one of the best methods available for both. UV-printed acrylic and metal signage is a staple of premium retail environments and trade show displays precisely because of its vibrancy, durability, and high-end appearance. Flat, rigid UV-printed panels hold up to transport, handling, and repeated use in ways that vinyl and paper prints simply don't.

What file format should I submit for UV printing?
For best results: vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for logos and type, and 300 DPI raster files (PNG, TIFF, PSD) for photographs or raster artwork.
