Answers to common Screen Printing questions

What types of decals does GoTeez produce?

We produce a full range of custom decals: die-cut vinyl decals, contour-cut stickers, bumper stickers, window decals (clear and white), floor decals, vehicle decals, label stickers, and transfer decals. Whether you need a single custom decal or 10,000 branded stickers for a product launch, we've got the equipment and experience to deliver.

Decals are one of the most cost-effective branded items you can put in someone's hands. Request a quote with your size, quantity, and artwork.

What's the difference between a decal and a sticker?

In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably. Both are self-adhesive vinyl graphics but the distinction usually comes down to application:

Stickers typically refer to smaller, label-style items with a white or clear backing applied to the front.
Decals often refer to larger graphics, vehicle applications, or window graphics where the design is cut to shape without a visible background.

We produce both. Tell us what you're trying to do and we'll recommend the right format and material.

What's the minimum order for custom decals?

Minimum orders vary depending on the type and size of decal. For most die-cut vinyl decals, our minimum is 25 pieces. For larger vehicle or window graphics, single-piece orders are available.

Pricing improves significantly when ordering in bulk. Decals are one of those products where ordering 500 instead of 100 can cut your per-unit cost dramatically while increasing your margins. If you're giving them away at events or including them in product packaging, order in volume and you'll be glad you did. Everyone loves a cool decal! Get a quote at your target quantity.

How long do custom decals last outdoors?

Outdoor-rated vinyl decals are designed to last 3–7 years in direct sun and weather, depending on the material spec and environment. We use cast vinyl for long-term outdoor applications (vehicle graphics, exterior window decals, outdoor signage decals). It’s the most durable vinyl material available and resists fading, shrinking, and cracking over time.

For indoor applications or shorter-term use (event decals, promotional stickers), calendered vinyl is a cost-effective option with a shorter lifespan but lower price point.

Can decals be removed without leaving residue?

In most cases, yes, especially if you use the right material and don't leave them on for years past their rated lifespan. High-quality cast vinyl decals are removable without significant residue on most surfaces when removed within their intended timeframe.

Decals left on a surface for many years can become more difficult to remove cleanly. Typically, heat (a heat gun or hairdryer) and adhesive remover make the process easier. If removability is a priority for your application, let us know and we'll recommend the right adhesive for you.

Can you produce clear decals?

Yes. We produce decals on clear vinyl for window applications, product labels, and anywhere you want the design to appear to float on the surface without a visible white background. Clear decals work especially well on glass, clear plastic bottles, and windows.

For clear window decals, we'll also advise on whether your design should be applied to the outside of the glass or inside the glass, facing outwards. This affects how we set up the artwork file and how the final product will look.

Can decals be applied to vehicles?

Definitely, and recommended! Vehicle decals are one of our most popular products. From simple logo decals on a company truck to full vehicle wraps and fleet design. We produce vehicle decals in cast vinyl rated for outdoor vehicle use, meaning they flex with body panels, resist car washes, and hold up to the road.

For full vehicle wraps, see our Signs + Banners service. For logo decals, door lettering, and window graphics, decals are typically the right (and more cost-effective) choice.

What file format should I use for custom decals?

Vector files preferred. AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF from Adobe Illustrator. Vector files give our cutting equipment precise paths to follow for die-cut decals and produce the cleanest edges.

If you're submitting a raster image it needs to be at least 300 DPI at your intended print size. Low-resolution files will produce fuzzy, low-quality designs that make it difficult to make a clean cut. Not sure about your file? Send it over and we'll evaluate it for free.

How long does it take to get custom decals?

Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days after artwork approval for most decal orders. Large volume orders or specialty materials may require additional lead time. Rush options are available. Contact us with your deadline and we'll tell you what's possible.

We're based in Alcoa, TN and serve clients across Knoxville, Maryville, Oak Ridge, and East Tennessee.

Are decals good for product packaging and branding?

Absolutely. Custom decals and labels are a cost-effective way to brand packaging, products, jars, bottles, boxes, and more. This is a great option for small businesses that can't afford custom-printed packaging on lower volume. A well-designed decal on a clean package can look extremely professional and help your product stand out on a shelf or in an online order.

If you're launching a product and want your brand visible on the packaging, with high visual impact, decals are the way to go. Contact us to discuss your product and we'll help you spec the right material and finish.
